Zale sees profits sparkle 18th May 2005

Latest figures released from the Zale jewellery group have revealed a 6.7 per cent increase in revenue to $516 million, as the firm's pieces proved popular.

In addition same store sales were up by 3.5 per cent during the third quarter ending April 30th 2005.

Chief executive, Mary L Forte, commented: "We are very pleased with these earnings results as they reflect the ongoing execution of our strategy."

Other results showed net earnings went up to $14.5 million during the quarter.

Zale is the largest speciality fine jewellery retailer in North America and it has around 2,330 retail stores throughout the US, Puerto Rico and Canada.

The company also sells fine jewellery online via two websites.

The firm's range targets what the firm calls the "upper moderate customer", including exclusive bridal designs, platinum jewellery and Swiss watches.track
