It has been revealed that plans are underway to produce what could be the largest fuel cell power generation facility in the world.

Money would also need to be found to purchase the industrial sit proposed for the cutting edge power plant.

A loan of up to $500,000 has already been allocated for the planning and development of the fuel cell project, which was granted by the state authorities from its Clean Energy Fund.

"This is not just an energy project. It's also a very important economic development project," said Lise Dondy, the fund's chief operating officer.

PurePower LLC, the project developer, said that the plant could be finished by next year if it received the necessary funding.
