Wesizwe Platinum chief named in management top ten 10th December 2007
The Chief Executive of platinum junior Wesizwe Platinum has been named one of the country's top ten managers in a newly published report.
Mike Solomon was placed 6th in the report from the Corporate Research Foundation, which was topped by Ian Cockerill of Gold Fields, Mining Weekly reports.
The executives were ranked by a number of criteria, including management style, the financial performance and culture of their firm as well as strategy and innovation.
News of Mr Solomon's placing comes as black-owned Wesizwe Platinum recently confirmed that it has received the first draft of its Pilanesberg platinum project.
The $30 million seismic survey is now complete, Mr Solomon said and the report will be reviewed on a peer-to-peer basis, with this set for release in the first quarter of 2008.
Wesizwe will then seek to raise capital of between R3.5 billion and R4 billion next year, according to Mr Solomon.
