Vivienne Westwood reveals palladium jewellery collection 20th December 2010
Fashion mogul Vivienne Westwood has unveiled a new collection of palladium jewellery, which will go on show to the public at London Fashion Week in February 2011.
The Get a Life Palladium Collection, which drew on pagan and natural symbols for inspiration, chimes with Ms Westwood's own passion for preserving the environment for future generations, OK Magazine reports.
Acorns, oak trees and hearts rendered in white, lightweight palladium feature heavily in the collection.
"My focus at the moment is what one person can do," Ms Westwood told the magazine.
"Stop climate change. Save the planet. The acorn is symbolic of the rainforest, its importance and how it is our first duty to save it."
In a recent interview with the Sun, the "godmother of punk" explained that she cycles to work, avoids washing her own clothes and uses talcum powder instead of deodorant as part of her own efforts to reduce her impact on the environment.
