Tiffany strengthens Japanese presence 8th August 2005
Jewellery chain Tiffany has announced that it is to open two new stores in Japan this September.
It has revealed that it will be opening a store in Osaka on September 7th, and another in Yokohama three days later.
In Osaka, the new store will occupy approximately 5,400 square-feet, while the Yokohama shop will cover around 2,000 square-feet.
The move is likely to boost the image of platinum jewellery in the country, as Tiffany says it will be showcasing an array of exclusive designs, including its well-known line incorporating diamonds in platinum settings.
Platinum jewellery's profile has risen steadily in the country in recent years, thanks in part to its popularity with top movie stars, and Tiffany will be looking to bring that star quality to the Japanese market.
Tiffany is currently expanding at a fast pace and the new stores in Japan follow on from its announcement in June, when it opened a 3,000 square-foot store in New Jersey.
