Tiffany steps up US expansion 12th September 2005
US jewellery company Tiffany has announced that it is to open another new store in Indianapolis, as it looks to continue its expansion.
The company, which is renowned for its high-end platinum jewellery ranges, revealed in a statement that it is looking to launch a 5,000 gross-square-foot store in the summer of 2006.
The announcement comes following Tiffany's recent launch of two stores in Japan, after its figures for the year revealed that it is beginning to make in-roads into the Japanese market place.
It is also the latest round of the company's American expansion, following the opening in June of a 3,000 square-foot store in New Jersey.
That expansion is in part being fuelled by the growing demand for high-end jewellery items, with platinum one of the major attractions in the market.
A poll of 30 jewellers revealed earlier in the year that platinum dominates the high-end jewellery sales market, largely thanks to engagement and wedding rings.
