World famous jeweller Tiffany & Co has announced that it is to open a new store in Germany and has confirmed it will offer many of its platinum items.

The new store will be opened in Hamburg, the country's second largest city, next summer.

As well as selling its platinum jewellery at the new store, it said it would also offer an array of its engagement diamonds and other jewels.

Signature designs in a range of metals by Elsa Peretti, Paloma Picasso, Jean Schlumberger, and Frank Gehry will also be included.

"We are quite pleased to be opening a store in the elegant port city of Hamburg," said Cesare Settepassi, vice president, Tiffany & Co Europe.

"Our unique designs, exquisite quality and highly rated customer service will be quite at home in this stylish, cosmopolitan city."

The approximately 2,400 sq ft store will be located at Neuer Wall 19, in the city's waterfront Binnenalster.

When open, it will be the third Tiffany's store to appear in Germany. The luxury retailer also has stores in Frankfurt and Munich.
