Stillwater aims to boost pgm output to 600,000 oz 1st March 2007
Stillwater is aiming to increase its output of platinum group metals (pgms) to upwards of 615,000 oz in 2007, according to chairman Francis McAllister.
The company's target was revealed to investors at the BMO conference in Florida and comes after recent production figures for the company of 601,000 ounces of pgms in 2006 - up from 554,000 ounces in 2005.
The optimisation of the mines is expected to be achieved through the use of more captive cut and fill mining, a revamp of the infrastructure at the mines and a recent land acquisition.
Mr McAllister also revealed that Stillwater is aiming to increase its recycling output to between 200,000 ounces and 300,000 ounces.
