Production increases at Eastern Platinum 14th August 2008
Eastern Platinum has enjoyed slight increases in production during the second quarter of the year.
The firm's Crocodile River Mine saw a 21 per cent increase in production to 30,311 oz up from the 25,111 oz produced in the same period last year.
Ian Rozier, President and Chief Executive Officer of the firm, said that it was aiming to increase the current rate of production at the Crocodile River Mine without compromising its economic situation.
He said that Easter Platinum also wanted "to develop and bring CRM's Crocette Section and our Spitzkop project into production as quickly as possible".
Mr Rozier said he was confident that production could be increased with Eastern Platinum's current financial resources.
Recovery rates improved to 73 per cent for the quarter ending June 30th after developments to the concentrator circuit at the Crocodile River Mine.
Meanwhile, the average mining rate increased by 25 per cent to 101,711 tonnes per month.
