Platmin plans for mid-2009 inward listing on JSE 24th March 2009
Platinum mining company Platmin is preparing for an inward listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) due to take place within the next few months, it has been reported.
In an interview with mining Weekly Online, Platmin CEO Ian Watson said he expected the listing to take place in mid-2009.
According to Mr Watson, the move has been dictated by the terms of Platmin's recent transaction with Brian Gilbertson's Pallinghurst Investment Consortium, which saw Pallinghurst acquire a 62.36 per cent stake in Platmin in a deal which will ultimately lead to a $175 million cash injection into the platinum- del hyphen hopeful.
He added that the combined effects of the Pallinghurst agreement, the extension of its bridging finance into a long-term facility and the repayment of a $15 million loan by the Moepi group meant Platmin was "funded to production".
Milling and concentrate production is due to begin at the company's Pilanesberg platinum project by the end of the month, with projections indicating Pilanesberg is capable of producing at a rate of 250,000 oz a year.
Platmin has three other key projects - Mphahlele, Grootboom and Loskop - and already has listings on the TSX and AIM.
