Platinum Guild International outlines growth strategy 19th November 2007
Platinum Guild International's (PGI) strategy will focus on promoting platinum jewellery in core markets, but will continue to explore other areas where potential for growth has been identified, the industry body's Chief Executive has announced.
Addressing attendees of a global conference organised by the London Bullion Market Association, James Courage of PGI said that the "volume markets of China, Japan, the USA and the UK" will be the hubs of the guild's promotional activities.
However, the firm will also "continue to look for new opportunities with a programme in India," he said, and is "evaluating other markets too".
The Indian market has been targeted by the industry-funded body because of its burgeoning economy, he added.
"We work closely with the leading players in the Indian market and remain positive in terms of its potential as both the Indian economy grows and the retail jewellery market goes through major changes," he told Reuters.
