Platinum Guild International launches Facebook jewellery contest 3rd November 2011

Platinum Guild International (PGI) USA and David's Bridal have launched a new contest on Facebook that will see winners scoop a platinum anniversary or wedding band.

The Platinum Moment Sweepstakes involves women posting on the David's Bridal Facebook page a photo with a short caption of a moment in their relationship that highlights one of four characteristics of platinum - strong, everlasting, rare and natural.

Each week in November a winner will be selected and given a platinum ring. Week one is a Lieberfarb sapphire and diamond platinum band.

The following weeks feature a Lieberfarb platinum and diamond band, a Philip Press A-Lister Primo platinum eternity band featuring diamonds in a bezel setting and a Philip Press Smooch channel-set diamond eternity band set in platinum.

"By launching the Platinum Moments campaign, we're giving our Facebook community the opportunity to share and reminisce about the most meaningful moments in their relationship, while simultaneously driving awareness of the superior qualities of a platinum wedding ring through an engaging and social vehicle," Kristen Celko, vice-president of e-commerce at David's Bridal told National Jeweler.

"Like platinum, special moments shared between loved ones are rare and everlasting," added Huw Daniel, president of PGI USA. "We want to hear directly from David's Bridal Facebook fans regarding their special relationships."

Last month, PGI announced the launch of a new range of platinum engagement rings from the designer Tacori.
