A US clean technology firm claims to have improved the effectiveness of its platinum-cured silicon hoses (APSM) with the launch of a new line available in custom colours.

Previously only available in white, AdvantaPure's new multi-layer range is coloured, which the firm claims allows recognition all along the hose and eliminates the need to read a label.

According to a statement from the firm, this innovation could also be used to signal capabilities or limitations, create traceability or improve safety.

As well as a core of low volatile, platinum-cured silicone, the device incorporates four layers of alternating polyester mesh fabric and additional silicone.

AdvantaPure also manufactures APSM as a wire-reinforced version, which is also in custom colours.

APSM is used for applications involving elevated pressure levels in pharmaceutical, bioprocess, biomedical, food, beverage, chemical, cosmetic, and pure fluid transfer.

AdvantaPure is a division of NewAge Industries, which manufacture and fabricates thermoplastic tubing and hoses.
