Platinum Guild International (PGI) revealed on Tuesday (29th September) that it is set to launch a new exhibit featuring some leading jewellery collections.

The marketing organisation will hold the inaugural 'Best of Platinum' event at the world headquarters of the Gemological Institute of America in Carlsbad, California.

Set in the main Rotunda Gallery, the exhibit will include the platinum 'Aqua Collection', which incorporates four distinct pieces representing Italy, Japan, China and India.

In addition, the PGI will showcase highlights of the prestigious 'Plat Africa' competition, featuring the winning offerings from leading and aspiring designers in South Africa.

James Courage, CEO of the PGI, expressed his excitement at debuting the two collections in the US and being able to invite the public to attend the event.

"PGI is thrilled to have the Aqua Collection and select winning Plat Africa pieces in the US for the first time," he said.

"Each of these pieces capture the intrinsic beauty and versatility of platinum and showcase talented designers across the world."

Award-winning platinum pieces from designers such as Kirk Kara, Danhov, Mark Schneider, Michael B Gurhan, Lisa Krikawa and Tom Munsteiner will also be on display.

The Best of Platinum exhibit opens on 2nd November 2009 and will run until 30th April 2010, with an early preview of the Aqua Collection available on 16th October.
