Platinum Guild International (PGI) has announced that it will once again be playing a major role in this year's awards season in Hollywood.

The industry body has revealed that it will be hosting the jewellery suite at this year's Golden Globe awards, which are the precursor to and generally accepted to be indicators of the likely winners at the Academy Awards later in the year.

For the two days prior to the Golden Globes ceremony, celebrities and their stylists will be given exclusive access to the suite to borrow a whole range of jewellery items that can then be worn to the event itself.

More than 30 jewellery houses will be in attendance at the event and platinum is once again likely to be one of the must-have items for celebrities, following a year in which many famous faces were seen adorned in platinum pieces.

Previous attendees at the PGI Golden Globes jewellery suite that have gone on to wear platinum items on the red carpet include the likes of Jennifer Aniston and Debra Messing.
