Palladium Alliance International launches new design competition at Gen Art event 20th September 2011
Palladium Alliance International has launched a new competition for accessories designers that will give the winner the opportunity to create, produce, market, and sell a six-piece capsule collection.
The project was unveiled at Gen Art's Fresh Faces in Fashion event in New York, which saw a host of celebrities and fashion designers in attendance.
Palladium Alliance International, a trade body promoting the metal for use in jewellery, was one of the major partners of the event.
Erika Christensen announced the competition of behalf of the alliance. "This lightweight, naturally white and luxurious precious metal is the quintessential element of style," Examiner.com reports her as saying.
Kelly Rutherford, who like Christensen wore palladium pieces to the event, was similarly impressed by the metal.
"What I love the most about palladium jewellery is that you can look sexy and elegant at the same time - a hard thing to pull off with jewellery because it's either one or the other," she is reported as saying.
