ORYXE Energy begins delivery of OR-LED 17th August 2005
ORYXE Energy International has announced that it has begun delivery of its groundbreaking proprietary additive, OR-LED.
The product is the first proprietary proportionally-injected diesel additive to have been approved by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to be used as a way of meeting the Texas Low-Emission Diesel rule.
OR-LED was approved by the TCEQ after a rigorous engine testing protocol performed at the West Virginia University National Research Center for Alternative Fuels, Engines, and Emissions Laboratory, which found that the additive demonstrated a reduction of 5.7 per cent in Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx).
It also found that there was a reduction of more than 20 per cent in Total Hydrocarbons (THC), and around a ten per cent drop in Carbon Monoxide (CO).
The gases are all major concerns for air quality in Texas, and the reductions will therefore be welcomed in the state as a major move forward as it looks to combat rising levels of harmful emissions.
It will also have wider implications by offering a potential new way for reducing emissions in diesel engine vehicles across the world.
The US government recently signed an agreement with a number of other countries which promises to increase the development of technologies that can reduce harmful emissions.
