Norilsk sees targets unchanged 6th August 2007

Norilsk Nickel has announced that its targets for the year remain unchanged following its half-year results.

The company has revealed a sharp increase in profit during the first six months of 2007, compared to the same period last year, although this is largely due to increases in metal prices, the firm explained.

Palladium output at Norilsk reached 806,000 oz during the second quarter of the year, while platinum production stood at 195,000 oz.

Looking to its full-year planned production, the company said its targets remain the same as it seeks to produce between three million ounces and 3.05 million ounces of palladium, along with 700,000 oz to 710,000 oz of platinum.
