New Toyota Verso features four-way catalyst and maintenance-free particulate filter 13th August 2009
A four-way catalyst and maintenance-free particulate filter will be features of the latest version of the Toyota Verso seven-seat compact MPV, it has been revealed.
The new car, which comes with a 148 bhp 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine and six-speed automatic transmission, will be equipped with the technology to ensure nitrogen oxide and particulate emissions are limited as far as possible.
According to dieselnet.com, the car's environmental credentials will receive a noticeable boost through the use of the four-way catalyst and maintenance-free particulate filter.
Meanwhile, CO2 output will be restricted to 178g/km and the vehicle has a combined cycle fuel economy of 41.5 mpg.
As the manufacturer behind the Prius and Camry, Toyota has a history of introducing green vehicles to the mainstream market.
Other features of the Toyota Verso include the option to choose between automatic and manual gear shifts through the use of a shift lever or paddle controls and a zero to 62 mph acceleration speed of less than ten seconds.
