NAP appoints new VP 8th September 2006
North American Palladium (NAP) has announced the arrival of a new vice president of operations.
The company has revealed that David Passfield will take on the role from October 1st this year and the mining group sees the addition as an important step as it prepares to expand its operations, beginning with the Arctic Platinum Project in Finland.
A professional engineer with almost 30 years of open-pit and underground operations, Mr Passfield has worked in management positions with numerous mining operations both in Canada and across the world.
He has also taken on roles working as consultant to mining companies, advising on production and maintenance planning, as well as throughput optimisation.
On making the announcement, company president and chief executive, Jim Excell, commented: "We are very pleased to welcome Dave to our senior management team. We expect his specific areas of expertise will be of enormous benefit to our Lac des Iles mine in addition to the future pipeline of projects including the Arctic Platinum Project in Finland."
