Mazda plans green future 26th March 2007
Car manufacturer Mazda has announced plans to increase its development of green technology, including the implementation of fuel cell-powered vehicles.
The company announced its long-term strategy, focussing on what it described as "sustainable zoom zoom" with the increased development of environmentally-friendly technology.
Mazda has revealed that it is looking to improve its synergies with Ford in the development of more sustainable vehicles and is preparing to develop the HEV system of the Hydrogen RE Hybrid.
Hydrogen power will be a major focus for the company over the coming years, with its efforts focused on internal combustion engine applications and the use of fuel cells.
Mazda also revealed plans to unveil an HEV system based on the Hydrogen RE Hybrid soon after 2010.
Mazda also revealed it is planning to up its sales, from 1.1 million in the 12 months to March 2006, to 1.6 million units in 2007.
