The latest in clean diesel technology is to go on show in Washington next week, with an array of advanced systems on display.
Major automotive manufacturers including Caterpillar, DaimlerChrysler, GM-Allison and Volvo will be showing off their wares, while Johnson Matthey will also be at the show.
The latest advanced diesel cars will be available for test drives, while real-time emissions testing will be on hand to evaluate just how effective the new technologies are.
Diesel cars use platinum catalysts to control harmful exhaust emissions.
A hybrid diesel-electric bus and a pickup prototype will also be on show at the Loews L'Enfant Plaza Hotel.
The vehicle display is sponsored by the 21st Century Truck Partnership and the Diesel Technology Forum, with the US department of energy also backing the show.
