Jaguar's diesel models meet Euro IV standards 16th June 2005
Leading car manufacturers are increasingly looking to offer cleaner cars, with Jaguar the latest to offer a low emission diesel model.
Under new plans S-TYPE Diesel saloons will be Euro IV emissions compliant by July this year, a whole six months ahead of the date required under legislation.
Already fuel consumption and carbon dioxide figures have got better due to the improvement in emissions.
The new S-TYPE 2.7 Diesel replaces the former EUIII model and features a catalysed diesel particulate filter (CDPF) as standard, which offers further filtration.
Catalysts are increasingly being used in diesel cars to control harmful exhaust emissions, with platinum a key metal used in their production.
The latest offering reflects the industry's continuing effort to ensure cars are cleaner and will offer a boost to the emissions control market and the demand for catalysts.
