Interest sees jewellery show switch venue 3rd November 2005

One of the world's fastest growing jewellery exhibitions has been forced to move locations simply to accommodate the growing number of visitors.

Growing interest in the products promoted at the event, including an increasing number of platinum pieces, has led to the change of venues and highlights the large potential in the Middle Eastern market.

The Watch & Jewellery Dubai (WJD) exhibition, which was formerly known as International Jewellery Dubai, has been expanded to include the watch sector and has been moved into the World Trade Centre's recently renovated Airport Expo in Dubai.

Platinum has proved popular with consumers across the world, thanks in part to the increasing number of celebrities spotted wearing expensive platinum items, and the precious metal will have an important presence at the Dubai event.

Director general of the Dubai World Trade Centre, Helal Saeed Khalfan Al Marri, commented: "WJD characterizes the natural growth and progression of the jewelry trade in the region and further enhances the product offerings"

He added: "The show will now enable both jewelry and watch manufacturers and distributors to target the exhibition’s trade buyers and high net worth individuals from the Middle East region from a single platform."
