Infotrek Syscom unveils platinum recovery plans 1st February 2007

Infotrek Syscom has announced that its E-waste Management Project is progressing well and is due to begin implementation in the near future.

The company is planning to develop a recovery programme that will recover platinum, other precious metals and ferrous metals from electronic goods so that they can be recycled and reused.

Major plant and machinery is to be procured as part of the operation and the company said this will be used to "process all sorts of electrical and electronic equipments which are either outdated or commercially non viable".

Infotrek has already identified a location close to Bombay City that may be used to house the e-waste facility, reports Equity Bulls.

Platinum and other precious metals are used in a variety of electronic goods and recovering them can be an important way of maintaining supply of the metals by reusing them in other equipment.
