Inco announces management changes 31st January 2007

Platinum and nickel miner, CVRD Inco, has announced several changes to its senior management team.

The firm's board of directors has chosen to appoint Murilo Ferreira as President and Chief Executive of the company, while he will also retain his current position of Executive Director.

Leonardo Moretzsohn, formerly Director of the company's internal controls department, has been given the roles of Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of the platinum mining firm.

Roger Agnelli, Chief Executive Officer of CVRD, welcomed the appointments, describing Mr Ferreira as "a key member of our executive team and a trusted personal advisor".

He added: "I'm confident he will provide the vision and leadership to expand CVRD Inco and establish it as a strong platform for growth in our non-ferrous business in the coming years."

The move following the retirement of Inco's former President and Chief Executive, Scott Hand. Mr Agnelli paid tribute to Mr Hand's efforts at Inco, commenting: "He has played a pivotal role in building a great global mining company and we are the grateful beneficiaries of his legacy."
