Honda launches fuel cell car 2nd July 2007

Automaker Honda has unveiled its fuel cell-powered concept car, which is the world's fastest zero-emissions vehicle.

The Daily Telegraph reports that the new vehicle, which is currently worth around £5 million, has been developed to run solely on hydrogen delivered through fuel cell technology, rather than using hybrid technology already seen in some vehicles.

This latest attempt by Honda to develop the ultimate eco-friendly car has resulted in the creation of a smaller fuel stack than in previous efforts, meaning the car is now different to drive compared to its predecessors.

With a top speed of 100 miles per hour, the vehicle is able to compete with some of the best environmentally-friendly vehicles on the road and the company has announced that the car will go into limited production in Japan as early as next year.

Owners in Japan will be able to lease one of the limited vehicles for around £250 per month.
