Honda finds its fuel cell vision of the future 8th October 2004
Japanese car manufacturing giant Honda is to showcase its innovative vision of a fuel-cell powered luxury sedan, the Kiwami, at this month's Australian International Motor Show.
The futuristically styled Kiwami, meaning 'ultimate' in Japanese, boasts the very latest in 'intelligent' technology, from a synchronized control 4WD system, to exterior information display and panel-touch gear shifting.
Most importantly, the sleek sedan is fitted with an advanced Honda fuel cell stack and hydrogen storage unit, with Honda keen to use the car as an example of the sort of zero-emission vehicles that are expected to be commercially available on the market within the next twenty years.
Meanwhile, Hyundai's own zero-emission Tucson fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) is currently en route to the show, as it heads to Australia for its southern hemisphere debut.
The second-generation fuel cell vehicle runs using oxygen and compressed hydrogen, and boasts a number of key advances, including cold weather starting.
The Australian International Motor Show at the Darling Harbour Exhibition Centre in Sydney runs until 17th October.
