Greater Columbia Fuel Cell Challenge unveiled 25th October 2006

Jadoo Power and Millennium Cell have been chosen as the fuel cell technology suppliers for the Greater Columbia Fuel Cell Challenge.

The scheme is designed to promote fuel cell power and deliver an increase in the integration of hydrogen fuel cell technology into the city's infrastructure.

Columbia is aiming to become the first in the world to be fully fuel cell-enabled, with an innovative pipeline being built across it which will deliver fuel to the various fuel cells around the city.

Welcoming the announcement, Harold Reaves, deputy director at the City of Columbia department of homeland security, commented: "Predictable, reliable, off-grid power in a portable package will help our department respond more efficiently in emergency situations."

The new system will provide power when the grid is either unavailable or unreliable.
