Ford vehicle output dips 6th June 2003
Ford has issued details of its weekly North American vehicle production which show output has dropped slightly on the previous week's totals.
The latest figures show that the total vehicle production stood at 70,156 for the week ending May 31st.
The number represents a seven per cent fall on the previous week's figures, largely because of a substantial fall in vehicle production in the US.
Indeed, whilst Canadian production actually rose by around 2,500 vehicles and Mexico stayed at virtually the same level, America saw output drop by some 8,000 vehicles.
A number of American and Canadian assembly plants worked overtime this week, including manufacturers at Dearborn (Ford Mustang), Edison (Ford Ranger and Mazda B-Series), and Michigan Truck (Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator).
Next week (June 9th) all North American assembly plants will be operating.
