Europe sees platinum jewellery increase 16th January 2007
Demand for platinum jewellery in France and Italy is set to grow during 2007, it has been reported.
The Platinum Guild International (PGI) is set to launch a major marketing initiative in France during 2007 and the organisation believes this will have a significant impact on the sector.
Speaking to Reuters, Francoise Izaute, Managing Director of PGI Italy and France, said that France has seen a number of boutiques pushing platinum jewellery opening during 2006 and this trend looks set to continue over the coming 12 months.
Meanwhile, Italy can also expect to see some increase in the platinum jewellery sector, Ms Izaute commented. She explained that the Italian market would be likely to follow other markets on the rise, such as France.
Platinum jewellery sales were generally good during the Christmas period, reported Ms Izaute, adding that the last few days before Christmas were "excellent".
