ETF Securities cross lists precious metal products on Mexican Stock Exchange 7th April 2011

ETF Securities (ETFS) has cross-listed four of its popular physically-backed precious metal products on the Mexican Stock Exchange, the Bolsa Mexicana de Valores (BMV).

The ETFS Physical Platinum Shares (PPLT), Physical Palladium Shares (PALL), Physical Precious Metal Basket Shares (GLTR) and Physical White Metal Basket Shares (WITE) are all to be cross-listed on the bourse.

ETFS said the four "first to market products" have gathered almost $2 billion (£1.22 billion) since launching on the New York Stock Exchange Arca two years ago.

The cross-listing to the BMV is part of the firm's global expansion and will be the first time these types of products are available to Mexican investors.

ETFS said the move comes as Mexican institutional clients request more choice in physically-backed exchange traded products.

Unrest in the Middle East and Africa, global inflationary worries, and the benefits of adding non-correlated asset classes to portfolios "bode well for this new cross-listed offering of ETFS products", the company added.

Commenting, Fred Jheon, head of product and business development for ETFS Marketing LLC, said: "We are delighted to expand our global footprint into Mexico and have four of our popular US products meet the demand from Mexican investors."
