Eastern Platinum commissions tailings retreatment plant 4th July 2007

Eastern Platinum has announced that it is to develop a tailings retreatment plant at its Crocodile River Mine.

Ian Rozier, President and Chief Executive of Eastern Platinum, has revealed that a new tailings recovery plant has been commissioned at the mine as part of the company's efforts to boost its output of platinum group metals (pgms).

It is hoped that the new plant will be able to supply 5,000 ounces of pgms to Eastern Platinum's annual production as it recovers pgms from low grade tailings that have previously been deposited on the tailings dam.

Welcoming the commissioning of the plant, Mr Rozier said: "The plant is just one more facet of our overall development plan to improve efficiencies and increase production."

It is anticipated that the tailings plant will cost $2.28 million to implement.
