Dubai prepares for 'best expo yet' 5th December 2005
Organisers of the Watch & Jewellery Dubai 2005 (WJD) exhibition believe that this year will be the event's most successful yet.
The five-day event, which has grown to become the largest in the region and is now being hosted in the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), is expected to be a massive hit, thanks in part to the growing interest in platinum jewellery.
The fact that platinum's value has rocketed in recent months has not deterred investors and consumers, who are still keen to get their hands on platinum jewellery.
And that is likely to be the case at this year's expo in Dubai, with new exhibitors taking part and industry seminars taking place all boosting the event's popularity in the region.
It seems likely that this year's event will be the most successful and well-attended since the WJD began, with platinum being a big pull for those visiting the exhibition, due to its continued growth in popularity on the world stage.
"Confidence amongst the watch and jewellery sector is high in the run-up to this year’s show," commented DWTC director general, Helal Saeed Khalfan Al Marri.
It was revealed in October that sales of jewellery in the Middle East are anticipated to rise significantly by the end of the year, boosted by the festival of Eid.
