Deal expands platinum label usage 15th September 2005
An agreement between Kreatech Biotechnology and BioCat is set to improve access to platinum-based, non-enzymatic nucleic acid labelling solutions.
Kreatech has a Universal Linkage System (ULS), which allows a variety of labels that are centred around a proprietary platinum-based system to be rapidly attached to DNA, RNA and proteins.
The platinum-based system produces highly stable labels under a number of various conditions and the ULS products provide a versatile solution for the labelling of RNA in microarray applications.
"This agreement expands our reach by leveraging BioCat's strong sales and marketing team in Germany, Switzerland and Austria," explained Kreatech chief executive, Alexander Altink.
The deal provides for BioCat to exclusively supply Kreatech's ULS solutions to laboratories across Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
As Mr Altink pointed out, the deal follows recent similar agreements with a number of other companies to deliver the company's ULS solutions to, among other places, America, Australia and Malaysia.
He added that Kreatech intends to develop further supply agreements, so that it can improve its network across Europe and Asia and deliver its platinum-based labels further afield.
