BTS to release new platinum-based nanoparticles 22nd April 2010

New types of iron/platinum and gold/silver nanoparticles will be unveiled at trade show in Nuremberg next week.

Baydots, developed by Bayer Technology Services (BTS), measure between 1nm and 20nm and can be used in a variety of electronic, medical and catalytic applications.

The new creations form part of the company's unique competence spectrum for submicron particles, innovative nanoparticles and encapsulated actives.

"Microencapsulation can be used to stabilise flavours and lipid extrudates can be used to significantly enhance bioavailability," said BTS.

"Nanoanalytics, such as the nanoaerosol measuring technique developed by BTS and the special adaptation of the SpectroBay-NIR-spectrometer series for the online analysis of solid particles, play a crucial role for very fine particles."

BTS added that the new nanoanalytic methods - when combined with formulation and process development - have enabled product design across eight orders of magnitude.

The company will present its new designs on Stand 329 of Hall 5 at POWTECH, which takes place between 26th and 29th April.
