Braemore Resources announces platinum production figures 1st April 2008
Braemore Resources produced 6,115oz of platinum group metals in the first three months of production.
Announcing its interim financial results for the six months to December 31st, the firm said it operated at a recovery rate of 98.4 per cent across October, November and December.
Over the next 18 months, the firm aims to become a leading producer of platinum group metals from high-chrome concentrates.
It plans to commission further smelters in South Africa using ConRoast technology.
"We have had a very productive year, both in terms of our corporate efforts and our metals output. We look forward to a year ahead as a platinum producer, and to making progress toward becoming a nickel producer in the near future," said Hamish Bohannan, Chief Executive of Braemore Resources.
The firm also became a member of the exclusive club of platinum group metal producers following its first production of pgm alloys at Mintek.
