Canadian platinum group metals specialist Anooraq has announced it is to list on the American Stock Exchange (Amex).

The group confirmed the move after receiving official approval from Amex, providing the firm meets all the necessary requirements to begin trading.

From March 15th Anooraq will begin trading on Amex under the symbol ANO, whilst retaining the moniker ARQ on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol ARQ.

"Management and the board of directors of Anooraq are pleased to have secured this new listing, as it will provide many interested investors in the US with greater transparency about the activities of the company as well as more convenience and readily accessible trading opportunities," commented president and CEO Roanld Thiessen.

"This will be advantageous to the company's growth toward becoming a premier platinum group metals producer in South Africa."

Anooraq holds a number of pgm prospects around the world, with the majority of its interest focussed on the Bushveld Complex in South Africa.
