Anika Noni Rose ensured she would not be missed at this year's Oscars ceremony by walking down the red carpet in a pair of platinum shoes.

The star of Dreamgirls, which was nominated for the Best Film award at the event on Sunday night, caused a sensation as she arrived at the 79th Annual Academy Awards.

Designed exclusively for Noni Rose, the shoes were each adorned with 1,420 cut Kwiat diamonds, set in sparkling platinum circles. The design of the Stuart Weitzman Diamond Dream Shoe - which was created especially for the star - was inspired by Kwiat's timeless Circles Collection.

Designer Stuart Weitzman said: "As Anika pursues and accomplishes her dream, I wanted to recognize this young actress by creating a luxuriously glamorous shoe for her to wear down the red carpet on Hollywood's most celebrated evening."

As well as wowing crowds outside the event as she walked down the red carpet, the actress demonstrated her considerable musical talent with a rendition of Patience, one of three Best Original Song nominations from Dreamgirls.
