American Idol contestant LaKisha Jones hit the stage this week wearing platinum jewellery.

The Maryland contestant sang Fantasia's I Believe wearing platinum bangles, chandelier earrings and a platinum and rubelite cocktail ring designed by Neil Lane.

Previously LaKisha also took to the stage to sing Diamonds are Forever in platinum necklace earrings, brooch and bracelet ensemble valued at $1 million.

The platinum American Idol connection continued as former contestant and Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson announced her engagement to her engineer boyfriend this week by sporting a platinum engagement ring.

Last week while performing in the Californian town of La Quinta, Ms Hudson also wore a diamond and platinum necklace and hoop earrings.

When she picked up her Oscar for supporting actress in Dreamgirls, she also wore platinum drop earrings and two 100-carat diamond and platinum bracelets.
